If your child takes things that do not belong to them, it is because when you buy them things, you don’t let them choose what they want.

Parents always under estimate the likes & dislikes of their kids because they think their kids still don’t have the capacity to choose the things for themselves. Parents, therefore, choose, select and opt everything on what they think right and suitable for the children. Well this thing is not always right.

My dear Muma Papa, please respect your kids’ volition.

Give them the space to choose for themselves be it anything because in a way you are laying a strong a foundation for your little munchkin. As in, it will further help your kid in mere future to take any decision wisely. If you will always abide your kid’s choice you might inculcate in him the habit of stealing. They might start stealing the things because they will feel something is missing in their lives. What’s missing may be love or attention to their choices… Just because all the times you said them a “BIG NO” for their choices… So they start stealing as a way to deal with the situation.  But stealing won’t fix what’s missing.

When parents think that the chosen one by the kid is not correct, they should have a logical and healthy discussion with the children. They should come up with the pros and cons of that chosen thing and explain to them by giving some good illustrations. Always keep in mind that your little bundle of joy is well responsible chap & if you will guide them properly they will understand what you want to say. “GUIDE” them in such circumstances… Just DON’T ORDER them if they are adamant to their choice.

ALWAYS REMEMBER There are no bad kids, just bad behaviour… and bad behaviour can be tackled with love, care & attention….
