5 Easy Summer Activities at Home: Key Wind Chime
Material: 5 old keys, a stick, a string, and acrylic paint
Method: Step 1 – Paint the stick and the keys.
Step 2 – Tie the piece of string on the both ends so that it could be hanged.
Step 3 – Tie a string to each key.
Step 4 – Tie the keys to the stick. The keys should be close enough to each other so that they would chime when wind blows.
5 Easy Summer Activities at Home: Lunch Sack/Bag Kite
Material: Brown paper bag, crayons, markers, stickers, string, and Popsicle stick
Method: Step 1 – Decorate both sides of the bag using crayons, markers, and stickers.
Step 2 – (Optional) Glittered glue could be used along with streamers.
Step 3 – Cut a small hole in the middle of the bottom of the bag.
Step 4 – Tie the string to the Popsicle stick. Put the string through the hole in the bottom of the bag, from the inside. The stick should be inside the bag, stabilizing the string.
5 Easy Summer Activities at Home: Paper Plate Sunshine
Material: Paper plates, googly eyes, and colored paper strips
Method: Step 1 – Cut the plates into two halves.
Step 2 – Paste them.
Step 3 – (Optional) Paint the sun with yellow color or paste yellow glazed paper.
Step 4 – Paste the google eyes and make a smile using a marker.
Step 5 – paste the rainbow colored paper strips to the bottom of the plate.
5 Easy Summer Activities at Home: Rock Painting
Material: Rocks, paint brush, and acrylic paint
Method: Step 1 – Pick up a rock (make it an activity and name it as rock hunting; In the evening visit the nearby park and collect rocks with the kids)
Step 2 – Next day, paint the rocks in different colors. Add polka dots or leave it plain.
5 Easy Summer Activities at Home: Paper Plate Bunny
Material: 2 paper plates, 2 googly eyes, 2 cotton balls, 1 pink button, pencil, glue, and
Method: Step 1 – Cut the shape of the ears (identical) and paste them on the other plate.
Step 2 – To create Bunny’s face paste the googly eyes, and use cotton balls as cheeks and pink button as nose.
Step 3 – Now cut a small section of the ribbed edge of the plate, to use as the bunny’s teeth. Glue the teeth in right place.These activities will also become a medium to spend more time with the kids instead of gluing in front of TVs.
