If you’re pregnant or considering becoming pregnant, you’ve probably heard the most basic pregnancy advice: Don’t smoke or be around people who smoke as it can take a toll on your health. Avoid alcohol or other dangerous substances, and get plenty of rest. But what else do you require? From vitamin intake to overall health, here are more pregnancy tips to help ensure safe and healthy prenatal development.

  • Avoid Caffeine 

 Caffeine consumption during pregnancy can lead to health issues for unborn babies.  Caffeine is digested much more slowly and enters your baby’s bloodstream via the placenta. This means that the caffeine side effects of a racing heart, high blood pressure, and an overly stimulated nervous system affect both you and your baby. As a result, the chances of miscarriage increase. Even small amounts have been shown to increase your newborn’s low birth weight by 13% and it is early pregnancy tips if you are planning to conceive. Switch to a naturally decaffeinated herbal tea, but consult your doctor or midwife first because certain herbs can cause premature labour.

  • Stay Hydrated

As a result, you’ll need to drink more to support that gain. Aim for 8 to 10 glasses of water per day, and if you don’t like the taste, add a squeeze of lime or a splash of fruit juice. Staying well-hydrated is a must for a healthy pregnancy. 


  • Quality Sleep

Fatigue is common, especially during the first trimester. Your body is undergoing hormonal changes, which will impact your energy levels. Take this opportunity to catch up on sleep and relax your body for a healthy pregnancy. You won’t be able to rest as much after the baby is born. Your sleeping pattern will be inconsistent and deficient. So, treat yourself to an afternoon nap to recharge your batteries and help your baby cope with the stress of work and personal life. It is also critical to get enough sleep at night. Sleeping will become more difficult as your pregnancy progresses. You will need to use the restroom frequently and will struggle to find a comfortable position for your baby. Make up for lost sleep by purchasing a pregnancy pillow that fits between your thighs and under your bottom. A pillow will align your hips, relieving pressure on your back and pelvis.

  • Eliminate Toxins 

Tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, and even solvents like paint thinners and nail polish remover should be avoided while pregnant due to their link to birth defects, miscarriage, and other problems. This is early pregnancy tips and should never be ignored. Detoxification entails using specific methods and procedures to remove toxins from the body. While detoxing your body regularly is beneficial, you may wonder if detoxing during pregnancy is safe.   • Eat Folate-Rich Foods

You’ve probably heard of postpartum depression and approximately 10% to 20% of pregnant women experience major depression symptoms. This may increase your chances of having preterm labour. Tell your doctor if you’re feeling unusually sad, angry, or guilty, or if you lose interest in activities, you usually enjoy or sleep excessively. Therapy, a support group, antidepressant medication, or a combination of the three will almost certainly be beneficial. However, not all antidepressants are safe, so work with a doctor who is experienced with pregnancy-related mental health issues.   • Say Yes to Cravings

Sometimes – To be honest, no one knows why pregnant women experience cravings. According to some experts, they are nature’s way of providing nutrients to the expectant parent, particularly nutrients that they may be deficient in. Others claim they are an emotional phenomenon caused by hormones or your mood. Regardless, as long as you eat a healthy diet overall, it’s usually fine to give in to your cravings. Just be sure to limit your portions and know which snacks to avoid. Raw and undercooked meat or eggs; brie, feta, and other types of unpasteurized cheese; herbal teas; and raw sprouts are a few foods to avoid.
